The Tour peloton will take in the Col du Grand Colombier for the first time. The HC climb featured in Critérium du Dauphiné last month, when Cadel Evans, Vincenzo Nibali and a handful of riders attacked Bradley Wiggins on the technical descent from the top of the climb.

Wiggins enters today's stage with nearly a two-minute lead over Evans in the GC. Here's a look at our top 10 following Monday's time trial:

3. Christopher FROOME, Sky, at 2:07
4. Vincenzo NIBALI, Liquigas-Cannondale, at 2:23
5. Denis MENCHOV, Katusha, at 3:02
6. Haimar ZUBELDIA AGIRRE, RadioShack-Nissan, at 3:19
7. Maxime MONFORT, RadioShack-Nissan, at 4:23
8. Tejay VAN GARDEREN, BMC Racing, at 5:14
9. Jurgen VAN DEN BROECK, Lotto-Belisol, at 5:20

Evans, of course, said he would attack in the high mountains when he met the press on the rest day. You can read Matthew Beaudin's story on the defending Tour champ's uphill battle for yellow here: velonews.competitor.com -

With 108km remaining in today's stage, a group of 25 riders has nearly a seven-minute advantage:
Burghardt, Cummings, Popovych, Voigt, Scarponi, Sagan, Grivko, Voeckler, Arashiro, Martinez, Millar, Zabriskie, Peraud, Jeandesboz, Horrach, Casar, Hutarovich, Ladagnous, Sanchez, Kroon, Morkov, Fofonov, Devenyns, Gerrans and Goss -

With 25 riders, the best among them Scarponi at 10:27 on GC, the success of the move will depend on a number of factors, among them what BMC Racing has planned for its two boys up front. Ten of the break riders have won a Tour stage before: Burghardt (BMC), Popovych (RNT), Voigt (RNT), Sagan (LIQ), Millar (GRS), Zabriskie (GRS), Casar (FDJ), Sanchez (RAB), Kroon (STB), and Gerrans (OGE). The gap is hovering between 6:50 and 7:05, which I don't think will be enough at this point. -

I do, indeed. The descent from the Grand Colombier is very technical and even if they can't put time into Wiggins today, guys like Nibali could put him under stress and it's the little things like that that show up as the race drags on. We saw at the Critérium du Dauphiné that Wiggins just made contact with the Evans/Nibali group at the top of the Richmond. I'd expect any GC riders on the attack to take more risk on the descent today and perhaps there's enough room there to make a difference. -
